What is Cramp Arrest™?
CrampArrest™ compound is a proprietary formula of natural, non-toxic ingredients, such as specially processed plant oils including canola, coconut, olive and palm oils, as well as (in some of our products) pure essential oils. Developed by a nurse practitioner, the primary formula for all CrampArrest™ products is based on proven all-natural remedies that relieve and prevent muscle cramps. It is not a gimmick, nor is it a placebo. It really works.
How does CrampArrest™ work?
The best explanation for how it works centers on the compound of specially processed plant oils. The compound that emanates from the specially processed plant oils comprises the CrampArrest™ formula. The compound is absorbed by the skin, relaxing the muscle cramps while preventing muscles from tightening up again. The CrampArrest™ formula is so efficient that, for most people, the Pouch and Neck Wrap need only to be placed in the general area affected by cramps to produce the desired therapeutic benefits. While we use essential oils in most of our products for sensory pleasure and for the additional benefits they might provide, we need to emphasize that the Essential Oils are not essential to the effectiveness of the CrampArrest™ formula. Our Non-Aromatic Pouch and Neck Wrap, therefore, are as effective for muscle tension and cramps as are the products which do contain the essential oils.
How long before CrampArrest™ begins to work?
Most Neck Wrap users experience noticeable relaxation and tension relief in neck and shoulder muscles within ten to twenty minutes of applying the Neck Wrap. (Severe neck and shoulder tension or muscle knots may require additional treatment with massage or moist heat therapy before the Neck Wrap will be optimally effective.) Because the Neck Wrap does not require micro-waving to be effective, it can be used either continuously or intermittently as needed. The CrampArrest™ Pouch generally begins to relieve nighttime leg cramps within the first night or two of use (and usually within a few minutes after it is placed in the bed!) For best effect, and to actually prevent cramps from starting, we recommend to leave the Pouch in the bed once it is in place. When traveling, the Pouch can be carried with you easily. Place the Pouch in the hotel or guest bed you are occupying and remove it when you leave. (Leave your zipper plastic bag on the bedside stand, to remind you to pack up your Pouch in the morning!)
How long does the CrampArrest™ Pouch or Neck Wrap last?
For most users, the effect of the Pouch prevents leg cramps for up to six months (sometimes longer!), making it a very cost-effective treatment. Replace the Pouch when you first notice that minor leg cramps are beginning to occur. A CrampArrest™ Pouch which is in its original sealed plastic wrapper will generally retain its effectiveness for up to 18 months from the time of purchase. However, since we have no control over storage or plastic wrapper conditions after purchase, we will only guarantee the CrampArrest™ products for 30 days from the actual date of delivery.
What about other Leg Cramp Treatments?
Treatments for painful nighttime foot and leg cramps are generally aimed at altering exercise routines, or replacement of certain minerals or vitamins thought to be missing in the body. Often these replacements are recommended by medical consultants without documented evidence of an actual bodily deficiency. Another common treatment has been the use of Quinine Sulfate, an old malaria drug, either in prescription strength or in naturopathic preparations. Due to recent FDA rulings, Quinine may no longer be prescribed for treatment of leg cramps in the U.S. Even tonic water used frequently may have some negative side effects. Many of these treatments require taking daily doses of pills or potions - or waiting until a cramping episode begins - before taking pills or exercising to relieve the cramps. CrampArrest™ Pouch offers an easy, cost-effective and, most importantly, a preventive approach to treating those painful foot and leg cramps!
How do I use the CrampArrest™ Pouch?
The Pouch is a small, flat cloth packet containing CrampArrest™ compound, measuring 3" x 3 1/2" x 1/4" inches. To use the Pouch: Remove cloth Pouch from the "stay-fresh" plastic bag in which it is sealed. Insert the Pouch into the bed at knee or calf level, under the bottom sheet or under the mattress pad where leg or foot muscle cramps usually occur. Most people don’t even notice the Pouch’s presence in the bed. It should be replacedwhen its effectiveness is reduced (when you begin to feel some cramping activity)—typically between four and six months.
My Non-Aromatic CrampArrest™ product has a little bit of scent to it. I thought it was “unscented?”
The Non-Aromatic Neck Wrap and Pouch have a slight natural scent associated with the all-natural plant oils used in making our CrampArrest™ products. While this non-aromatic scent is unnoticeable to most people; the few folks who are able to detect it inform us it is not bothersome, nor does it result in any allergic or sensitivity-type reactions.
If I buy a CrampArrest™ product and DO NOT open the package, how long will it last?
Each CrampArrest™ Pouch or Neck Wrap is freshly heat-sealed in high quality plastic packaging. If this packaging is not punctured or torn open, CrampArrest™ products will generally retain its effectiveness for up to 18 months from the time of purchase. However, since we have no control over storage or plastic wrapper conditions after purchase, we will only guarantee the CrampArrest™ products for 30 days from the actual delivery of your purchase.
Can I use CrampArrest™ during pregnancy?
Because there is no direct topical application of the essential oils required when using any of the CrampArrest™ products, we believe that its use in pregnancy is most likely safe for both mother and baby. However all pregnant women are advised to consult their medical provider regarding the use of this product, or to detect and correct any possible physical imbalances. If you or your medical provider has any reservations about using essential oils during pregnancy, consider using the Non-Aromatic Pouch or Neck Wrap which contain only the all-natural plant (vegetable) oils.
Why Use Essential Oils in CrampArrest™?
The practice of Aromatherapy is an ancient art, which uses the theory that simply inhaling an Essential Oil provides ready access to the bloodstream; this can result in a beneficial effect on certain emotions, senses or organ systems. Added to the basic cramp-preventing CrampArrest™ compound (which by itself is effective for muscle cramp relief),the Essential Oil combinations chosen for use in CrampArrest™ were selected for sensory pleasure, as well as for their possible usefulness in affecting other body processes related to the common problem of painful nocturnal foot and leg cramps, or neck and shoulder muscle tension or spasms. Cedarwood Ancient Egyptians distilled cedarwood oil for medicinal uses. The woodsy scent may provide the body with a very soothing and calming effect, improving concentration, combating stress and anxiety, and helping the nervous system relax. Eucalyptus This fresh, earthy aroma may help relieve respiratory and sinus problems; has been used to increase mental alertness and decrease stress. Juniper Berry The earthy, sweet smell of juniper berry oil has been used to treat the pain and inflammation of arthritis, rheumatism and varicose veins by warming and relaxing the muscles and increasing circulation. Lavender The scent of lavender may be used as an analgesic, and has been used to fight off insomnia, soothe nerves, and help the body as an anti-inflammatory for the natural relief of muscle aches. It may also help alleviate circulatory problems and aid in relaxation. Peppermint The sweet peppermint scent is used for its mild anesthetic and anti-inflammatory effects. Helpful as an analgesic to ward off various joint and muscle pains, peppermint may also provide headache relief. Rosemary The unique herbal scent of rosemary is used as an aid in stopping muscle aches and common muscle cramps. Rosemary has been known to help soothe poor circulation and may also act as an antidepressant.
Why choose CrampArrest™?

(natural antioxidant/preservative). Cloth packaging is 100% cotton.
Can I use CrampArrest™on other body parts where I have muscle cramps or tense muscles?

Both the CrampArrest™ Pouch and Neck Wrap have been usedsuccessfully on legs and arms, inside socks for the foot, near shins, and even tucked under bra straps for preventing muscle tension between the shoulder blades. There is no limit to the number of muscles CrampArrest™ can benefit. The design of the CrampArrest™ Pouch and Neck Wrap accommodates use for many different types of skeletal muscle cramps and tense, achy muscles.
Will one CrampArrest™Pouch be enough for me?
Most people with leg cramps will have sufficient relief from one Pouch. However, if cramps are severe, or if they continue after using one Pouch for more than one or two nights, you may need to add a second Pouch for complete relief of cramping. We therefore recommend you buy TWO POUCHES; use one for a few nights first, then add the second one to the bed if cramps are still noticeable.
